I recently read that my hall's Prometheus is asking for ideas for their script. Well, I feel that a play on dreams would be nice. It's something that many people can relate to because we all have dreams. Whether they are realistic or not we all have them. In fact, it doesn't matter even if we have realised them or not. If we have, a pat on our back. If not, we now have a goal to strive for. Anyway back to the ideas.
The story goes like this: There's a boy and a girl who have contrasting backgrounds. The boy has a tough life where he's being constantly reminded that he's not good enough, that he has not met his potential. His dream was to become a rockstar but because of family pressure, he was studying medicine instead.
The girl is really fortunate as she's studying what she really wanted to do: to become a teacher. Currently, she's taking mathematics but is on track to become a teacher. Her family is really supportive, giving both moral and financial support to put her through university.
Boy meets girl and Providence strikes. The girl counsels the boy and shows him what to do to achieve his dream. In addition, he learns the importance of having dreams. As time passes, the friendship blooms. (cue romance)
The ending becomes obvious but there's a twist in the end. The girl dies of a horrific accident. The boy grieves for her and meets her in a dream. (cue fantasy element) He remembers her pearls of wisdom and promises to teach others about it. (cue education hehe)
Okay that's it.Very vague yet the vagueness gives room for creative expression. There's no point if it's the finished article because then there is only the end.
Till next time, may you have a nice dream every night!
